Jeff Ruby Steakhouse sits at the corner of Fourth Avenue and Union Street in downtown Nashville. The dining room is dramatic: crystal chandeliers, deep burgundy tones, red feather ceiling installations, and a neon-lit section marked as the Music City Room. It is not a neutral backdrop. Any AV setup here has to work with the room rather than against it.
For this tech industry dinner, we brought in two 85-inch monitors on floor stands, positioned to cover the main dining floor from two angles. The screens were synced so both displayed the same content simultaneously. That approach works well in a room with this footprint: instead of one large display that some guests have to crane toward, two positioned screens keep sight lines clean across more of the room.
Sound
Audio was two speakers on stands, two wireless handheld microphones, and a mixer. One of our technicians was onsite from load-in through the end of the event. Load-in was at 3:00 PM with the event starting at 5:00 PM, which left enough time to run cable cleanly, check monitor sync, and line-check the microphones before guests arrived.
Planning Notes for This Venue
Jeff Ruby has a strong existing aesthetic. Dark walls, patterned carpet, and layered lighting mean you are not starting from a blank room. Bright blue monitor screens, as visible in the photos from this event, read clearly against that environment. Floor stand placement needs to account for table configuration and server traffic paths. Talk to the venue team early about where floor stands can live without disrupting service flow. The room rewards a setup that feels intentional rather than improvised.
